Hines, Jin Cho
Apr 9, 2018Duke Hospital on March 14, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Jin was born on September 1, 1945, to her late father, Byung-Jae Cho and her mother, Kwang-Soon Kim in Seoul, South Korea. Jin was the youngest of seven children. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Kyung-Rae Cho, Myung-Rae Cho, and Bong-Rae Cho. She was married to John William Hines, Jr., who survives at the residence. Jin was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, plus an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In addition, during the time her three children attended Sacred Heart School, she was involved with numerous activities associated with the school. A homemaker, she had previously worked at PCAA in Chatham, Virginia. In addition to her husband, Jin is survived by three children, John William Hines III and his wife, Jamie Eustace Hines, Karen Hines Beyer and her husband, Blake Matthew Beyer, and Christopher Scott Hines and his wife, Cathryn Gamble Hines; and five grandchildren, Nathaniel Hines, Katherine Beyer, Matthew Beyer, Isabelle Beyer, and William Hines. She is also survived by two sisters, Soon-Ok Cho and Jung-Ok Cho; and one brother, Hong-Rae Cho. The family will receive visitors from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Townes Funeral Home. A Celebration Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jin's name to the Duke Hospital Cancer Center, at Duke Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.
